“Freestyle Cruising” Scores High Marks At Cruise Seminar

CHARLESTON, SC - On Thursday, April 3rd cruise experts Mike & Diana Bogart of Cruise Planners hosted their second of three educational cruise nights at the Holiday Inn Airport and Convention Center in Charleston, SC.

An audience of 75 people came and listened to the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) presentation about “Freestyle Cruising” as well as to learn more about the NCL Hawaii and Golf Programs. Additionally, the event covered local interests including future sailings from Charleston on the Norwegian Majesty and the special Cruise Planners hosted Culinary Cruise aboard the Norwegian Majesty departing Charleston on December 13, 2008.

The evening was opened by a special appearance of Chefs Michael Carmel and Richard Nickless of the Culinary Institute of Charleston who will be the featured chefs on the December 13th sailing. Chefs Carmel and Nickless provided background information on their careers and their plan for conducting four 45-minute cooking demonstrations aboard the ship during the at-sea days. Chefs Carmel and Nickless also extended the invitation to anyone booking a cabin with Mike and Diana Bogart of Cruise Planners, exclusive access to one-on-one consultations covering areas of food preparation for the holidays and nutritional concerns for people with heart conditions and diabetes.
 
The highlight of the evening was a presentation of Linda Gruneklee, NCL Business Development Manager. In her speech she focused on the new enhancements incorporated in NCL’s new initiative “Freestyle 2.0” that will significantly improve the overall guest experience aboard NCL Cruise NightNCL’s fleet of ships. Features of the “Freestyle 2.0” enhancements include: an upgraded dining experience with some restaurants offering lobster dishes every single night; improved stateroom amenities such as customizable mini-bar items and foam mattress toppers; additional recognition and services for suite and villa guests; and an expanded offer of onboard activities.
 
Hawaii was the featured destination of the Seminar. NCL is considered the Hawaii Specialist because they are the only cruise line in the industry that offers a 7-Night inter-island cruise experience that stops in Maui, Kauai, The Big Island Of Hawaii, and Oahu aboard the Pride of America.
 
The third in the spring series of Cruise Planners seminars will feature European River Cruising. A representative from Amadeus Waterways; the leader in the European river cruise industry, will introduce new ships and itineraries for 2008/2009. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Airport and Convention Center from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Registration begins at 6:30 PM.
