Peter Deilmann Cruises is including a free “Discovery Package” with the nine-night “City of Light” cruise-tour in July and August. The package includes two complimentary hotel nights, pre- or post-cruise, at the St. Lazare Concorde, breakfast daily, a city tour and transfers between the ship and the hotel. Located in the shopping area of Boulevard Haussmann, the 19th century hotel, restored in 1989, offers short walks to the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. These two extra nights are in addition to two nights spent onboard the 100-guest Cezanne in the heart of Paris, preceding the cruise along the Seine River. The complimentary “Discovery Package,” representing a value of $399 per person, is being offered on weekly Friday U.S. departures in July and August; some restrictions apply. Cruise-tour fares are $2,515 to $3,395 per person, double, including the two hotel nights in Paris, five excursions, accommodations in outside staterooms, and all meals onboard ship.
After two nights in Paris onboard the Cezanne, the cruise heads to Les Andelys and then a full day of touring from Caudebec-en-Caux to the beaches of Normandy, the Caen Memorial Museum, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. The cruise also visits Rouen and Giverny. The Cezanne, renovated in 2006, has 50 staterooms, sun decks, a restaurant, a bar, a lounge and a library. Evening meals are seven to nine courses. Mid-afternoon tea and coffee is served every day on deck and in the lounge, and there is a late evening buffet. The multi-lingual staff includes a medical doctor. The ship also hosts the Captain’s Welcome and Farewell Champagne Receptions. A non-smoking policy applies to the interiors of all Deilmann river vessels. Port charges of $120 per person are additional.
