DOT has fined US Airways

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has fined US Airways $40,000 for violating rules that require airline price advertisements to disclose the full price consumers must pay for air transportation.

Cruise Planners Donates $18,000 to Fisher House Foundation

MIAMI, FL – February 24, 2010 –Cruise Planners/American Express, the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, donated $18,000 to the Fisher House Foundation as part of its CP Cares initiative. The funds were collected at the company’s annual convention late last year through Cruise Planners t-shirt sales and a silent auction.

I am currently in limbo with our Cruise Planner Facebook.  My individual site was compromised today and a dear friend tried to help me out.  There is a scam that has bee around for over a year.  IM message came up to a dear friend saying I was in London at a hotel and was mugged please send money.  He was so worried about me that he did and it turned out to be a scam.  My FB site is disabled and I am not sure if I will active it again or not.

Mickey and Minnie to Get New Ship Cousins

While the Disney Cruise Line ships are not known as Mickey and Minnie, we think maybe they should.  But in any case the ships (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) will be joined in 2011 and 2012 by two cousins. 

Carnival Destiny Going In Drydock

Due to populsion problems, Carnival Destiny will undergo a  seven-day dry dock next month to resolve the problem. The issue is only affecting the vessel’s sailing speed and all other systems are operating normally. The dry dock will take place Feb. 13-20.

What to expect for 2010.  We have learned a lot during 2009.  Some good and some not so good.  Prices have never been lower.  There is a good chance they will start climbing back up in 2010. 

January has been typically known as "Wave Month".  People book most of their travel for 2010 in January.  You can take advantage of the lower pricing, but booking early. 

Cruise Planners will watch cruise fares for you and should the price decrease we will pass the savings back to you.  This is not a service that is offered by the big internet companies or even the cruise lines.

We hope you will use our services to book your next trip.  If you don't use us, make sure you use a CLIA certified agent.  Not all travel agents are equal.  CLIA certification let's you know that the agent is not doing this as a hobby and is truly serious about giving you the best service and up to date knowledge.
